Using good quality art materials can make a HUGE difference in how young people experience and learn about art. Even if you just provide them with easy, free access (and limit technology time) to a variety of good art materials, it's absolutely amazing how much they can learn independently. Kids have an innate intuitive creativity and are naturally responsive to color, texture, and the other expressive elements of art.
